We collect the least we can, use it only for the reason you gave it to us, and never sell it. This page sets out the detail.
Harding Property Management Ltd ("Harding Property", "we", "us") is a residential property management company based in Botany, East Auckland, New Zealand. We are the agency responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. If anything here is unclear, email office@hardingproperty.co.nz and we will explain it in plain terms.
We only collect information we actually need. Depending on how you deal with us, that may include:
Providing this information is voluntary — but if you leave out the parts we need to reply to you or to assess an application, we may not be able to help.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not add website enquirers to bulk marketing lists. If you ask us for a specific piece of follow-up material — a switching guide, a market rent snapshot, a fee audit — we send you that, and we may follow up about your enquiry directly. You can tell us to stop at any time and we will.
We disclose personal information only where it is necessary, and only to:
Some of our service providers store data on servers outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to satisfy ourselves that the information will be protected by comparable safeguards to those in the Privacy Act 2020.
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work and to measure how it is used. We may also use analytics and advertising tools provided by Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which set their own cookies and may record that you visited a page or submitted a form. That lets us see which advertising produces enquiries and, in some cases, show our advertising to people who have visited the site.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can adjust ad personalisation in your Google and Meta account settings. Blocking cookies will not stop you using the site.
Information is held in access-controlled systems, protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication where the system offers it. Only Ashleigh Harding, and anyone we later employ who needs it to do their job, has access.
We keep information only as long as we need it, or as long as the law requires:
If information is lost or accessed without authorisation in a way that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the affected people and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy of it, and to ask us to correct anything that is wrong. Email office@hardingproperty.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days, as the Act requires. There is no charge in the ordinary course. We may need to confirm your identity before releasing information, and there are limited grounds in the Act on which we can decline — if we do, we will tell you why.
If we cannot agree to a correction, you can ask us to attach a statement of the correction sought to the information we hold, and we will.
If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first — email office@hardingproperty.co.nz and we will look into it properly and come back to you.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner: privacy.org.nz, 0800 803 909, or PO Box 10094, Wellington 6143.
We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
Requests for access, correction, or deletion go straight to Ashleigh. There is no privacy department to get lost in.
